Most people are concerned with MPa flexural strength when evaluating materials, however, this is not a true measure of clinical performance. Fracture Toughness (ability of a material to resist breaking) gives a much more accurate picture of how a material will perform in the long run. Even with ultra-translucent materials registering 600+ MPa flexural strength compared to IPS e.max at 400+ MPa, the Fracture Toughness is virtually the same. Learn more about Fracture Toughness.
